01 / A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Journalism.
From my perspective.

I’m an independent journalist and host of Your First Vote and Let’s Talk Politics.

I work across podcasting, community involvement and media to help young people be heard. I interview politicians, speak with people in my community and write about the decisions affecting our generation.

My story, so far ↗

02 / YOUR FIRST VOTE

The next question.

Politicians. Community voices. Young Australians.
Different perspectives, in one conversation.

CREATED & HOSTED BY JACK OKILL

Politics is personal.
Let’s talk about it.

I created Your First Vote to make politics more accessible to young Australians. It’s a politically neutral space for conversations across parties and perspectives—without requiring you to have it all figured out.

CURRENT WORK / YOUTH REPRESENTATION

A voice from
every electorate.

I’m developing a proposal for a bill to establish a National Youth Council of Australia, with youth representatives from every federal electorate.

It would bring young people’s perspectives into parliamentary decision-making and introduce Youth Impact Statements for bills identified as youth-focused.

In development. This is my policy proposal, not a bill introduced to Parliament or an established government council.
