Hi, I’m Jack.

I’m an independent journalist and host of Your First Vote and Let’s Talk Politics, based in Sydney. I care about how young people can take part in public life—even before we can cast a vote.

My work started with media and small-business projects. Through transport content, technology and digital platforms, I developed an interest in research, communication and telling stories.

I now host Your First Vote, my podcast about Australian politics and civic engagement. I speak with politicians, community leaders and young Australians about the issues that affect our generation.

I also host Let’s Talk Politics, a series of community conversations and local interviews. Beyond my journalism, I’m a member of Matt Cross’s Davidson Youth Advisory Council. I’ve contributed to the Ku-ring-gai Youth Advisory Committee and taken part in public discussion about digital rights and youth representation. I’ve also shared my perspective on national news and ABC Radio with Dom Knight.

Davidson Youth
Advisory Council.

I’m a member of Matt Cross’s Youth Advisory Council for the Davidson electorate.

ACHIEVEMENTS

A milestone
worth marking.

ACHIEVED / SILVER

Duke of Edinburgh’s
International Award.

I’ve achieved my Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

A completed personal milestone, alongside my ongoing work in journalism, podcasting and youth advocacy.

CURRENT WORK / YOUTH REPRESENTATION

A voice from
every electorate.

I’m developing a proposal for a bill to establish a National Youth Council of Australia, with youth representatives from every federal electorate.

It would bring young people’s perspectives into parliamentary decision-making and introduce Youth Impact Statements for bills identified as youth-focused.

In development. This is my policy proposal, not a bill introduced to Parliament or an established government council.

Jack during his visit to Parliament House in Canberra

CANBERRA / 28 JUNE – 1 JULY 2026

Parliament
House.

28 June – 1 July 2026: my trip to Canberra and Parliament House.

I walked the halls of Parliament House and met Angus Taylor, Jane Hume, David Littleproud, Ali France, Charlotte Walker, Allegra Spender, Julian Leeser and my own MP, Nicolette Boele.

We discussed all things youth, and I recorded some of those conversations for Your First Vote.

“Holy ****, I’m here.”

Me, taking this photo outside Parliament House.

That was the moment it really sank in. The funniest part? Finding out my shoes had metal rods in them when they set off the metal detectors.
